He has been involved with Real Estate since 2004, first personally buying and selling his own properties, then by becoming a Realtor.
He is a licensed attorney and has worked all over California, purchasing and selling many properties in both Northern and Southern California. He has lived in California since 2000 and has resided in Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, and currently in Newport Beach, so he is very familiar with the Orange County market. Derek attended the State University of New York College at Brockport and earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and economics. He then went on to law school at California Western School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree. He passed the California State Bar and has practiced law for the past 18 years, handling both civil and criminal matters, including real estate matters involving breach of contract and specific performance. The skills he has obtained give him a unique insight into how to bargain, negotiate, protect his clients, and interpret and explain complex contract/legal issues, in order to be able to better serve real estate buyers and sellers. As previously mentioned, Derek has been a practicing, licensed attorney in California for almost 20 years, so you can have confidence in his education, professionalism and reputation. His legal background provides him with the skills needed to listen to your detailed requests and help you navigate confusing documents during a sometimes overwhelming time. You can trust his ability to analyze and explain contracts and terms effectively, and you can count on his attention to detail. Derek also has a background in paint and drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and tile. He recently renovated a 50 year old home for a relative who received several offers due to the updates.
