The clock tower at the Irvine Civic Center is illuminated red, white, and green to honor the life and legacy of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian woman who died last month in the custody of the morality police. The City of Irvine stands together with the women of Iran who are bravely fighting for freedom and human rights.

The Dana Hills High School Cross Country Invitational will take place on Saturday, September 24th from 7:00am-3:00pm. The event will require a few lane closures beginning at 5:30am in the surrounding neighborhood. See streets impacted below:

-Acapulco Drive from Elisa Drive to Golden Lantern (Right Lane Closure)
-Golden Lantern from Acapulco Drive to Stonehill Drive (Parking Lane Closure)
-Stonehill Drive from Cheltam to Intera Way (Right Lane Closure)

Please plan ahead as there may be delays on these streets, particularly when leaving the neighborhood adjacent to the high school.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team of Docents at the Nature Interpretive Center!

What Docents do:
• Interpret and educate visitors of the biological, cultural, historical, and geological resources in Dana Point.
• Lead public programs, including guided walks and group habitat activities.
• Perform biological monitoring.

Where Docents volunteer:
• At the City of Dana Point Nature Interpretive Center, central to 60 acres of protected coastal sage scrub habitat, all while enjoying the stunning ocean view!

Who can be a Docent:
• We welcome volunteers with backgrounds or interests in natural resources, history, education, and more to apply! Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Docent shifts:
• Shifts are 3 hours in the morning or afternoon. The Nature Interpretive Center is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am - 4pm.

The Youth Board is a great opportunity for youth to be active and make a difference in our community. The Youth Board participates in City activities throughout the year and meets after school on the 3rd Thursday of each month to discuss issues that affect local teens.

Applicants must be Dana Point residents of high school age.
