Before there was a nation, there were people willing to risk everything to create one.
They knew they would never see the full impact of their decisions. They would never witness America’s growth into a global power or the opportunities that millions would one day enjoy. Still, they chose to build something they believed could endure.
They debated fiercely. They challenged one another. They made mistakes. But they shared a belief that liberty, self government, and individual rights were worth fighting for and preserving.
That kind of long term thinking is rare. They weren’t asking, “What’s best for me today?” They were asking, “What kind of country can we leave for generations we will never meet?”
250 years later, we’re still living with the benefits of those decisions.
Since this country’s inception every generation has faced the responsibility of improving and protecting what it inherited. That’s part of the American story.
This Independence Day, take a moment to appreciate those who had the courage to build, the sacrifice to defend, and the vision to think beyond themselves.
What do you believe is the greatest responsibility our generation has to the next?
🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July!
