Denbigh Day Parade

Celebrate one of Newport News’ favorite traditions at the 66th Annual Denbigh Day Festival & Parade on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The festivities begin with the Denbigh Day Parade at 10:00 a.m., starting at Denbigh High School, 259 Denbigh Boulevard. The parade travels about one mile along Denbigh Boulevard and Old Courthouse Way, passes the viewing stand and festival grounds at Courthouse Way Community Center, 14302 Old Courthouse Way, and ends at Sherwood Shopping Center, 13771 Warwick Boulevard. Expect a lively lineup of marching bands, decorated floats, dance teams, classic vehicles, community groups, youth organizations, local businesses, and civic leaders.

Beat the summer heat with this easy and delicious Strawberry Lemon Mint Refresher!

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Juice of 2 lemons
A handful of fresh mint leaves
3 cups cold water (or sparkling water for extra fizz!)
Honey or simple syrup to taste
Ice

Directions:

Muddle the strawberries and mint together.
Add fresh lemon juice and sweetener.
Pour in the cold water and stir well.
Fill your favorite glass with ice and enjoy!

Perfect for relaxing on your patio, hosting friends, or cooling off after a sunny afternoon.
