Community Coordinator (Coworking Facility)

We are currently looking to add a Full-time Community Coordinator to one of our teams in the Hampton area.

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage communications and relationships with members at the coworking space.
• Your priority is making sure the coworking space is inviting and productive.
• Answer all telephone calls in a warm and professional manner.
• Greet guests and drop-ins to the coworking space and provide tours and membership information to prospective members.
• Lease administration for new members and renewals for existing members.
• Serve as our representative to the broader community and get involved in activities that build community awareness and public support of the coworking space.
• Basic computer operation in windows and Microsoft 365.
• Follow up with delinquent tenant’s weekly.
• Plan and promote monthly events for the coworking space that draw in new members and allow current members to network and connect.
• Coordinate third-party events and serve as the primary contact for organizations and groups using the coworking space to host an event.
• Master our coworking software platform used for billing, door access, event management, and reservable resource management.
• Help plan and manage the budget for the coworking space, marketing activities, and member engagement activities.
• Ensure the coworking space remains clean by straightening up, educating members to clean up after themselves, and utilizing external cleaning services when appropriate.
• Ensure smooth, day-to-day operations of the coworking space including tasks such as brewing coffee, stocking office supplies, or managing maintenance and repair needs.
• Be knowledgeable about the coworking space's membership contracts and guidelines, as well as federal, state, and local laws that manage the work environment. Explain these policies to members, as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Property Manager.

Required Qualifications:
• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Must be well organized, have strong customer service skills, be sales driven and have a keen eye for attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, customer service and enjoy interacting with others.
• Good organizational skills and basic bookkeeping.
• Be able to type 35 wpm and work with general office machines.
• Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds for moving desks around and package handling.

Hours and Availability:
• 40 hours per week.

Additional:
• Compensation based on experience.

What better icon is there for the Virginia Peninsula’s central business district than two hands coming together in the customary sign of an agreement made, a deal struck?

Sculptor Gunther Stilling tells a story about how business was done in the village where he grew up. When negotiations were underway to sell a pig, for example, the buyer would open with a low offer, only to have his hand slapped away by the seller. The seller would respond with a price too high, with the same result. When the two met on a price, their hands would come together in a gesture that’s repeated across the world, as well as in Stilling’s village.

For Stilling, though, hands are much more than a way of transacting business — they are the essence of what it means to be human. With our hands, we communicate, we create, we comfort … we do the things that signify us as people. Just from the hands, Stilling says, you can learn much about a person.

Let’s look back at Port Warwick, a 115-acre mixed-use community. The project was completed in 2005, transforming the old Eveready Battery site in the center of the City of Newport News. Port Warwick has won many design and development awards over the years and is a premiere location to live, work, eat, and enjoy outdoor activities such as concerts and community events. PMA Architecture is proud to have been a part of the team that made it happen.
