Northwest coastal housing would like to thank Lincoln County for awarding a $3,582.00 Social Service Nonprofit Grant to support resident safety at Yaquina Breeze Apartments in Newport.

These phones were used to install a surveillance camera system at our permanent supportive Housing communities serving individuals living with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). The new system enhances safety, improves property oversight, and supports coordination with behavioral health providers, crisis response teams, and law enforcement when needed.

This investment helps us better support some of our communities most vulnerable residents while promoting housing stability and safer living environment for everyone who calls Yaquina Breeze home.

The story of Olalla Meadows is now live on our website, and it's one worth reading.

On May 29th, something remarkable happened on a stretch of city-owned land in Toledo. Years of planning, partnership, and persistent advocacy came together as Northwest Coastal Housing broke ground on 30 new affordable homes for Lincoln County. It was a milestone that Toledo Mayor Tracy Mix put simply: "I didn't know if this day was ever going to come."

From the funding partners who made it possible to the community members who showed up throughout the planning process, this project reflects what it looks like when a community decides that everyone deserves a place to call home.

On Friday, May 29th, Northwest Coastal Housing officially broke ground on Olalla Meadows Apartments in Toledo, Oregon, and it was a moment worth celebrating.

A small, intentional gathering of community partners, city leaders, and project collaborators came together to mark the start of construction on 30 units of affordable housing years in the making. Remarks were shared by NWCH Board President Richard, General Contractor Kurt Meili, and our architect, each speaking from the heart about what this development means for Lincoln County. Toledo Mayor Tracy represented the city beautifully, including a moving acknowledgment of Rod Cross, whose early vision helped bring this project to life.

Olalla Meadows will offer 22 one-bedroom and 8 two-bedroom units designed for the working individuals who make this coast home. Construction is underway, with residents expected to move in by winter 2027.

We are grateful to our legislators, the City of Toledo, Lincoln County, Oregon Housing and Community Services, the Housing Assistance Council, and our Lincoln County commissioners for helping make this possible.

At Coastal Phoenix Rising, we provide emergency shelter and a path forward for families and individuals facing some of the hardest moments of their lives. Right now, we have a very specific need — and you can help us meet it.
