Four years ago today, we welcomed our very first guests to Hickory Hollow House. 💙

If you know me, you know I give 110% to everything I do. I’m always thinking ahead, noticing the little things, and asking myself, “What would make someone feel more comfortable, more relaxed, and more at home?”

Hosting takes a lot of work—often behind the scenes—but hearing laughter from the lake, seeing families enjoy time together, and reading a message from a guest who felt truly at home makes every bit of it worthwhile.

Over the past four years, we’ve welcomed so many wonderful people through our doors. I’ve genuinely enjoyed getting to know our guests and being a small part of their family vacations, wedding weekends, celebrations, and quiet escapes.

That personal connection is one of the biggest reasons Hickory Hollow House is direct book only. You’re never just a reservation number to us. From your first message until you head home, you’re our guest—and making sure you feel cared for is personal to me.

The final school bell has rung for the summer!

Today marks the last day of school for Pete, my husband, co-host of Hickory Hollow House, and a dedicated high school science teacher. After spending the school year inspiring young minds in the classroom, he's ready to trade lesson plans for lake breezes and sailboat races on Swartswood Lake.

If you've stayed with us, there's a good chance you've met Pete—whether lending a helping hand, sharing local recommendations, or chatting about life on the lake. When he's not teaching, you'll usually find him out on the water or making sure everything is ready for our guests.

Here's to summer sunsets, steady winds, and a well-deserved break!
