On my vacation to Palm Beach, I was especially drawn to The Colony Hotel’s architecture — because it’s one of the clearest examples of “Palm Beach Regency.” 🏛️🌴
Palm Beach Regency emerged after WWII as a lighter, more playful evolution of classical design — with slim columns, simplified symmetry, pastel façades, and a sense of refinement without heaviness. Built in 1947, The Colony represents the moment when American resort architecture went from simply serving guests… to defining the identity of a destination.
And the cultural orbit around this building proves it wasn’t just a hotel — it was a social filtering device. 🕰️✨ Sinatra came through. Judy Garland visited. The Kennedys used Palm Beach as a seasonal escape. Later, the fashion world followed — Kors, Tory Burch, Hilfiger. The Colony became a stage for mid-century reinvention — luxury with a wink, wrapped in elegance.
Palm Beach pink isn’t just a color — it’s a visual thesis. 💗
