What’s your opinion on the Highway 371 project?

My opinion is that an entirely new plan needs to be drawn up or completely abandon the idea of any sort of project being even needed!

The Brainerd Lakes area is truly different than any other part of the state!
Reason being…we are a destination!
We are not just a spot on the map, where you take pull off on an exit ramp for just gas!
Instead, we are a destination where people across the state and even country call “up north”, a place where you can come and enjoy all the area has to offer, and feel like your able to get away from it all!

I truly believe that this proposed project will not only drastically harm local business by taking away our “Main Street”…but it will also drastically start the change of making the Brainerd Lakes area feel like every other area of MN that you see off to the side of the highway as you fly by going 80mph.

The negative impacts that implementing this proposed plan would have on local business in the Baxter/Brainerd area far outweighs the benefits of having people be able to get through town a bit “quicker”.
