Thanks to Mayoura I’m ringing in the New Year in a beautiful new home. She was a superb ally and resource through the house hunting and buying from start to finish and beyond. This was a tough market to find an entry-level house in, but Mayoura truly put in the time and effort required and I can truly say I’m finally home after quite a journey.
Two aspects of this process to note, (1) we spent A LOT of time and (2) looked at A LOT of places. She was not only knowledgeable about the type of houses available, but was able to place them in context given her familiarity with the neighborhoods and surroundings. She was patient and attentive to the things I was looking for in a place. Eventually she had a good feel for what I liked which definitely helped move the process along. This also helped us avoid a few potential disasters, i.e. giving me a heads up about a couple places that seemed nice, but that were awfully close to the train tracks for my liking. Mayoura also always made sure I understood all the language and fine print in any documentation and that everything was crystal clear before I put my signature to any documents.
When after many, many months we finally came across “the one” and it was time to get aggressive, Mayoura made sure our offer not only was heard by the previous owner, but that it was the first offer. And a strong one. For what it’s worth she also made sure my love letter to the previous owner was delivered. Once the deal was sealed, but prior to my taking possession, Mayoura even went the extra mile. She stopped by my home-to-be on multiple occasions to bring the trash and recycle bins out for trash day since the previous owner was out of town at the time. She also did amazing work helping to make sure internet service would be installed prior to my moving in, not an easy feat given the logistics of the particular situation at the time.
I have to say this was an interesting market in which to go on this adventure. It was a long and sometimes nerve-racking process. It was a comfort having Mayoura’s support and expertise throughout. And when everything was said and done, I have to say it all went about as smooth as I could have ever imagined. Thanks Mayoura!
