What is your #1 non negotiable feature you refuse to compromise on when buying a home?

I’ll go first-
We purchased our most recent home a little over a year ago and my top non negotiable was location. I really wanted to stay in the same area while my boys finished up school and there were 3 neighborhoods specially that met that non negotiable plus other features we were looking for out of our next home.

Recently, the fire department responded to a structure fire call. Upon arrival and investigation, it was discovered that a battery pack from a cordless stick vacuum that was plugged in exploded and caught fire. No one was injured, and the fire was only contained to the laundry room.

This week is Fire Prevention Week, with the theme being "Charge Into Safety." Events like this remind us to be cautious with our electronics.

✅ Checking for third-party testing marks on electronics ensures the device meets safety and quality standards set by independent organizations.
✅Do not overcharge your item. Unplug the charger when it's fully charged.
✅If it feels hot, stop using it immediately.
✅Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
✅Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor.
