You probably don’t think twice about where a light switch or outlet goes…until you live in a house where it doesn’t make sense. That’s why this part of the build matters.

In this phase of Dirt to Door, Preston walks us through the framed home and shows how he and his trade partners intentionally plan the placement of every switch and outlet…thinking through furniture placement, how each room will actually be used, and what will make everyday life easier for the homeowner.

This is the unglamorous-but-necessary part of the process the part nobody posts about, but we think you should see. One week it’s a slab. Blink twice and it’s framed and standing!

🚪Dirt to Door | Part 5

Before we close these walls up, Preston’s showing you one last detail of the framing phase: “Blocking” is such a satisfying detail because it’s so simple yet so thoughtful…exactly the kind of thing that makes IBH stand out.

When you hang a towel bar, a toilet paper holder, a heavy mirror, etc. you need something solid behind that wall to hold it. Most builders leave that to chance. You end up with anchors, drywall damage, and eventually a hole where there shouldn’t be one. Iron Bison installs blocking before the drywall ever goes up. Strategically placed wood reinforcement built right into the frame, exactly where you’ll need it most.🦬this is The Iron Bison Way🦬
