It's been one hell of a ride, but it's time! After over 35 years in the Real Estate business, I am officially retired. I have to tell you things certainly have changed over the years! When I started there were 1-page listing agreements, 3-page sales agreements, the fax machine was just becoming popular, no wiring money, the mortgage rep brought the package and ck to closing.
I have listed and or sold more houses than I can count and enjoyed almost all of them. 🙂 I have so many people I would like to thank, I hope I don't forget anyone but if I do, I am sorry and all I can say is I'm old now and that is why I am retiring. All of you have had a hand in making my career such a great success, I made it through the early 80's with interest rates at 16.9 percent, I made it through many ups and downs in the market. One thing is for sure; Real Estate is never a bad investment; it always comes back around!
Just a little advice, enjoy your life, don't work too hard, say I love you more often, always hug your kids.

PLEASE USE DUE DILLIGENCE WHEN LISTING A VACANT LOT!

THE MLS JUST LEARNED OF A VACANT LOT SCAM THAT MADE IT TO UNDER CONTRACT.
The listing agent did not require meeting this 'owner' and was sent (fake) photo ID - but at no time did the listing agent use means to get the legit phone # of the property owner and call them. Now the agent must 'explain' to the buyers (also their client) that they ALMOST were out of a lot of $$ for smoke and mirrors.

THE REAL PROPERTY OWNER SAW HIS OWN PROPERTY ONLINE AS UNDER CONTRACT.

Vacant lot scams are not going away. It is a national phenomenon. DO NOT LEAVE ANY STONE UNTURNED IN VERIFYING A PROPERTY OWNER IS WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE.
