Throwback Thursday!!! This kitchen was a blast from the past! Vintage 1960s appliances that were still in perfect working order! They may not be as efficient or effective but those old appliances last. This buyer loved the vintage look and bought the home because of it.

If you have a metal roof, don’t forget to check your screw’s regularly! I see many people opting for a metal roof after the hurricane but most people aren’t aware that they aren’t maintenance free. You should check your screws annually to ensure none have backed out especially after a storm. Also it’s recommended to replace the screws every 10-15 years as the rubber washers degrade and the screws corrode.

People always ask if a home inspection is necessary or worth it on a home that’s “only” a few years old. This home and roof was only 4 years old with an active leak under the tile roof. I’d say a home inspection is worth it no matter the age as this find saved my buyers possibly thousands in unexpected repairs.

Vents and other protrusions through the roof my look fine with your head lamp on but looks can be deceiving 😈 Which is why I always turn my light off when inspecting roof penetrations in the attic. It’s amazing what you can find in a home if you know what to look for… This area was not a large leak but it’ll add up with time. I could already see damaged insulation beneath and water stains forming on the ceiling from the top but not below. Drywall moisture stains do not typically show immediately but take time to develop.

😩 Nothing worse then seeing this as your attic access. At least the builder installed crawl boards!

Schneider Electric more commonly know as Square D just recalled 1.4 Million electrical panels manufactured between 2019-2022. Due to thermal burn and fire hazard issues they have recently had with these panels. If you’ve purchased a new home or had your electrical panel updated between 2019-2022 check your panel and contact Square D’s customer service. They will schedule someone to inspect and determine if the panel will need repairs or replacement which will be covered by them.
