🚨 MARKET UPDATE: Why Mortgage Rates Just Jumped

If you’ve been watching rates, you probably noticed… we dipped below 6% earlier this year, and now we’re back in the mid-6s.

So what happened?

The conflict with Iran has pushed oil prices back above $100/barrel, which is driving up gas prices and creating new inflation fears. When inflation fears rise, Treasury yields rise — and mortgage rates usually follow.

Right now, the average 30-year fixed mortgage is around 6.6%, the highest we’ve seen in about 6 months.

💥 Translation:
Global conflict → Higher oil prices → Inflation fears → Higher mortgage rates

What this means:

👉 Buyers: Waiting for the “perfect” rate is risky. We were under 6% not long ago, and now we’re not. This market is moving fast.

👉 Homeowners: If you missed the last dip, don’t panic. Opportunities come in waves.

👉 Investors: Strategy matters more than headlines. The right payment and the right deal will always beat trying to perfectly time the market.

My take? Don’t wait for perfect. Be ready. When rates dip again, the people who already have a plan will win.
