🧶🎨 Creativity & Connection with Our Seniors

LightHouse Angels (Senior Program) recently hosted a wonderful Arts & Crafts Class with our Liberty Square senior residents, where participants had the opportunity to design and create their very own handmade rugs! ✨

The class was filled with:
🎨 Creativity and artistic expression
💬 Meaningful conversations
😂 Laughter and fellowship
🧵 Unique colors, patterns, and designs

Residents explored different techniques while creating one-of-a-kind pieces they were proud to take home. Beyond the crafts, the activity promoted social connection, relaxation, and a sense of accomplishment in a fun and supportive environment. 💛

🧠🤝 De-Escalation Training for Community Safety & Awareness

Dade County Street Response, in collaboration with the University of Miami, recently conducted an impactful De-Escalation Training for representatives from TRG Management, members of the Beautification Team, community center staff, and our valued service providers.

The training focused on:

✅ Conflict resolution strategies
✅ Crisis intervention skills
✅ Safe de-escalation methods for tense situations in both community and workplace settings

Participants engaged in meaningful discussions and practical exercises designed to strengthen awareness, professionalism, and preparedness when responding to challenging situations.

To the City of Miami Police Department, thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Liberty Square community and surrounding areas. We extend special appreciation to the officers who work tirelessly each day to serve, protect, and uplift our residents. 💙

A very special acknowledgment goes to Officer Adam Nentwig and Officer Fraser J (Unit 2031) for taking immediate action to assist a young man from our community who was in need of employment assistance and supportive resources.

Through their referral to the Liberty Square Community Center, this young man was connected with opportunities and guidance that will positively impact his future. We are proud to share that, because of this collaborative effort, he will begin employment tomorrow! 👏🏽✨

This moment reflects the power of strong partnerships between law enforcement and community organizations in addressing real-time needs and creating pathways toward hope and stability.
