"Mama Duck" is making a splash in Myrtle Beach Mother's Day weekend! 🐤💦

The World's Largest Duck (AKA "Mama Duck") is coming to Myrtle Beach this weekend, May 8-11! This 60-foot tall rubber duck will serve as a larger-than-life ambassador for water safety awareness as part of the YMCA of Coastal Carolina's Splash Safe Challenge. Make plans to bring the kids to the Splash Safe event this Saturday, May 10, at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place!

This unique event is a collaborative effort between the YMCA of Coastal Carolina, the City of Myrtle Beach and Visit Myrtle Beach, who have teamed up to help educate and engage the community and visitors during National Water Safety Month. You will be able to see the duck, take pictures and learn about water safety at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place, 812 North Ocean Boulevard. Here are a few special dates to "float around:"

- Opening announcement: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 8
- Public viewing: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, May 8-10, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 11 (the duck will be deflated every night)
- Daily Duck Inflation: 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., May 8-11
- Splash Safe Day: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10. The community is welcome to come visit Mama Duck and participate in the Splash Safe Day water safety awareness demonstrations.
