SOUTH DAKOTA'S REPUBLICAN GUBERNATORIAL RUNOFF
Absentee voting for the July 28, 2026 Republican gubernatorial runoff election in South Dakota begins Friday, June 12.
Additionally, the deadline to get registered to vote or to change party affiliation to be eligible to vote in the runoff election is July 13.
South Dakota’s Republican gubernatorial runoff election will be held Tuesday, July 28.
Voters with questions about absentee voting or runoff election procedures are encouraged to:
• contact Lawrence County, South Dakota County Government auditor’s office, or

It was a pleasure to attend the Visit Spearfish Annual Celebration 2026.
The morning program included staff introductions, annual reports, and recognition of individuals and organizations that have made a lasting impact on tourism and our community.

This celebration also marked a special milestone as it was the final annual event led by Mistie Caldwell, Executive Director of Visit Spearfish, before her departure.
In recognition of her vision, leadership, and dedication to Spearfish tourism since 2009, Mistie was presented with an At One (Black Hills) Termesphere Gallery Snap Sphere. Her years of service have helped elevate Spearfish as a premier destination and have left a lasting impact on our community.

I was invited by Lawrence County Conservation District to attend a political social and annual meeting this afternoon.
Conservation in the Black Hills balances heavy recreational use, forestry, and wildlife preservation. Key initiatives focus on stream restoration, wildfire mitigation, and protecting the region's diverse prairie-forest ecosystems.
