I never thought I'd be doing something like this. Sometimes life puts you down a different path and you just have to see where it goes.

Today's update on the Degraff Mansion Restoration project.

Dingman Property Management was able to get the huge 8" x12" x 28' solid - 1 piece support beam we saved from the garage/barn demo under the porch and use it as temporary bracing. It may not look like it but we raised it up over 8" and back to level 😲😲.

Now to get the roof supported and start dismantling the intricate woodwork. Then take it to my Amish guys and get what needs to be recreated made up.

A little bit here, a little bit there. Dingman Property Management is actually making a dent with the Degraff Mansion Restoration project.

This video was when I got there earlier today. I've Since cleaned up all the cut debris shown in the video and dug out some of the shrub stumps on the front driveway side.

Now I need to find a licensed General contractor - who would like to be associated with the project to brace up the porch for me.

I'm not looking for free. I'll buy the materials, pay you for your time and let you post up some signs at the base of the braces until construction begins- most likely next year.

This Customer reached out to Dingman Property Management a few weeks ago for a consultation about removing their existing chain link fence including all the posts. We discussed the possibility they could be concreted in and it would leave big holes and some may have to be cut below ground level. After some thought they requested we move forward with whatever needed to be done to remove the old to make room for the new. 😊

We brought in the tractor with our custom made post puller and pulled them out with ease. Although I didn't expect it to go so well on the corner post but we managed to pull all but 1 post which was buried in a tree.

This Customer requested all her existing shrub stumps pulled out and all high spots in the lawn removed and graded. Dingman Property Management used this as a chance to try out a new tool we picked up called the Brush Grubber . I think worked it well. We then scraped down where a previous drain tile had been repaired and soil left behind and used it to fill in other low spots.

Slow and steady progress makes all the difference. I haven't been able to see the patio in about 15 years. Still in the cleanup phase and waiting on the NFP to be opened to really start the restoration process but I feel as if I'm at least making some headway.
