Irish Fall Festival – FREE

The annual North Wildwood Irish Fall Festival is a vibrant and spirited celebration of Irish heritage, drawing thousands of visitors each year to the Wildwoods. Hosted by the Cape May County Ancient Order of Hibernians, this three-day festival held September 25-27, 2026, transforms the streets of North Wildwood into a sea of green, with lively music, traditional dance, and the unmistakable aroma of festival cuisine filling the air. Attendees stroll through rows of vendor tents offering Celtic crafts, authentic Irish apparel, and unique souvenirs, while the sounds of bagpipes and fiddles set an upbeat tone. The festival’s highlight is the grand parade down Surf Avenue, where decorated floats, marching bands, and Irish-American organizations proudly display their heritage. Lighthouse Full Moon Climb - 9/26

Follow the light of the full moon on these rare nighttime climbs up the 199 cast-iron spiral staircase steps to the top of the Cape May Lighthouse. Enjoy a nighttime view nearly 156 feet above the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. Interpretive panels along the climb tell stories of Lighthouse Keepers, the surrounding area, and how the lighthouse functioned historically, and are located at landings along the way. The 1859 Cape May Lighthouse is a state historic site and the third beacon on this site. Still an active aid to navigation, it was restored and is maintained by Cape May MAC. Since it opened to the public in 1988, more than 2.5 million visitors have climbed to the top, but far fewer have climbed at nighttime.
