🔍 Looking for a good way to make a bold statement in your home?

🌳 Try a strategically placed indoor tree. Here are a few to consider.

1. New Zealand Laurel
This tree grows tall with oblong leaves and is best suited for homes in warm climates with plenty of indirect light.

2. Fiddle Leaf Fig
Fiddle Leaf Figs like humid environments. Homes aren’t usually humid enough, so you may need to run a humidifier for this tree to be happy.

3. Common Fig
The Common Fig has broad leaves and gives round purple fruit. It grows best in homes with lots of light. Like the Fiddle Leaf Fig, this tree likes a humid environment, although it’s not quite as picky.

4. Fishtail Palm
Bathrooms with plenty of natural lighting make great homes for the Fishtail Palm. Because this is a tropical tree, it prefers a humid environment, so you may need to invest in a humidifier to keep this beauty happy.

5. Money Tree
Known for its beautifully twisted trunk and sprawling leaves, the Money Tree grows well in almost any home environment. The main thing to remember if this tree is in your home is to keep it out of consistently dry or cool air and make sure it gets plenty of light.

6. Olive Tree
It lends a minimalist style that’s easy to maintain. For olives to form on the tree, you need cross-pollination to happen. Be sure to purchase a fruit-bearing tree from the get-go.

🛏️ Your mattress is vital to the quality of your sleep. If it isn’t the right one for you, it can lead to sleepless nights and daily aches and pains.

👉 Here’s how to choose the right mattress for you.

1. Get Your Doctor’s Advice
He or she can give you advice as to which features you should look for in a mattress.

2. Do Your Homework
Take the time to visit websites to read reviews of specific mattresses to find out what real people have to say.

3. Test The Mattress Before You Buy
Lie down on the mattress and lay in your normal position for at least 10 minutes. If you'll be sleeping with a partner, have them lay with you.

4. Consider The Rest Of The Bed
If you’re buying an adjustable bed, don’t take for granted that the head raises to a sitting position just because it says it does.

🌳 Choose The Perfect Tree For Your Yard

🏡 Whether you’re selling your home or plan to live in it for a long time, proper landscaping adds beauty while providing protection for your home.

What Is The Purpose Of The Trees?
Trees are beautiful, but beyond that, they also provide protection from all sorts of things. So, what is it you want your trees to do?

Consider A Tree’s Size And Lifespan
Shorter trees are great for yards with overhead power lines, but taller trees provide privacy and shade.

Know Which Trees Grow Best Where
It’s not enough to simply select a tree based on its beauty or ability to protect your home. The tree must also thrive where you plant it.

Tree Characteristics To Look For
When choosing a tree for your yard, look for the following characteristics to ensure you get a healthy one that will last for many years.

🏠 Buying a first home is more difficult than ever these days, making the dream of homeownership for some just that – a dream.

💸 Even though home prices are higher than they’ve ever been, first-time homebuyers are making their dreams a reality, and here’s how.

Creative Steps To Affording Your First Home

Homebuyers face difficult hurdles when purchasing their first home. House prices are higher than they’ve ever been, making it a challenge to save the necessary down payment and to afford the monthly mortgage payments as well.

Know Your Credit Score And Research Your Options

You should find out what programs (if any) you qualify for to help with things like the down payment and the interest rate. Many lenders have first-time homebuyer programs that lower both.

Make Enough Money To Save Money

While you might not have to come up with a full 20 percent down, you’ll still likely need a down payment. This means you’ll need to make enough money to pay your bills and to save money for a new home.

Be Creative When Coming Up With The Down Payment

Many first-time homebuyers agree that coming up with the down payment is the biggest hurdle. You may or may not need to come up with a full 20 percent for the down payment, however.

Know What You Want But Be Flexible, Too

Everyone has an idea of what their dream home should be. Many first-time homebuyers are disappointed when they find that dream home but discover it costs way more than they can afford.

🏘️ So, you’re buying your first home.

✨ Great! Here are a few things you should know when buying your first home.

1. Financial Preparedness

To make sure you’re financially ready, ensure you’re not just buying a house because all your friends are doing it and that you have an emergency fund set up to cover the cost of unexpected situations.

2. Hire A Real Estate Agent

While the Internet makes it easy for anyone to shop and purchase a home, it doesn’t mean you should go it alone. Hiring a real estate agent will help you find the perfect home as well as navigate the complicated waters of the home buying process.

3. Don’t Make Decisions Solely On Price

If you choose a home-based solely on price, you may miss out on other vital factors such as a safe neighborhood or the proximity of nearby conveniences. Be sure to look at several factors when searching for your first home.

4. Get Pre-approved

You can certainly look for a home without getting pre-approved for a mortgage, but not knowing how much home you can afford beforehand can cause you to waste time looking at homes you can’t afford.

5. Don’t Skip The Home Inspection

You may be tempted to forget the home inspection based on the appearance of the home, but it’s important to keep in mind that many of the issues in a home aren’t readily visible.

😁 To help you find a buyer for your home quickly, use the four tips on how to sell your home fast listed above.

1. Be Reasonable About The Price From The Beginning
Whether it’s to make a profit or the outstanding balance is more than the property is worth, many sellers think starting high and then lowering the asking price later if it doesn’t sell is a smart thing to do.

2. Up Your Home’s Curb Appeal
Take the time to update the landscaping and take care of any repairs to the outside of the home that will make it look better.

3. Give Your Home A Modern Makeover
You can update your home’s interior cheaply and easily by updating fixtures and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint.

4. Give Buyers A Chance To Imagine
Take down family photos and remove any religious items. Give it a good deep cleaning (carpets, windows, etc.) or hire a cleaning company to do it for you.

Bonus: Be Courteous And Accommodating

🌳 Whether you lack ample outdoor space to sow a garden or you simply crave the crisp flavor of fresh veggies in the winter, you can grow a garden indoors.

👌 Here’s how to create the ultimate home garden anytime inside the house.

How It’s Done

Step 1 – Find a cool spot in your home and assemble your grow lights. A basement works well for an indoor garden as the cool temperatures encourage a continued harvest.

Step 2 – Plant seeds according to package directions. If planting seedlings, repot if roots show through the drain holes.

Step 3 – Place grow lights about two inches above the plants. Use a timer to turn lights on and off as necessary. Growing plants need about 16 hours of light a day.

Step 4 – Water two times a week or when the soil feels dry.

Step 5 – Harvest fresh veggies.

✨ Building equity is the goal of homeownership.

👇🏻 Here’s how you can build equity in your home.

1. Let the property appreciate
Depending on the market, your home could appreciate quickly or slowly.

2. Make a big down payment
It’s best to find a good balance between down payment, monthly commitments, and savings.

3. Put windfalls of money toward your mortgage
When you come into lump sums of money, put them toward your mortgage to bring down the principal faster. When you make these lump sum payments, ask your lender if they are willing to recalculate your monthly payments based on the lower balance due.

4. Pay your mortgage bi-weekly
If you follow this payment schedule for a full year, you will end up paying 13 monthly mortgage payments instead of 12.

5. Take out a shorter mortgage term
Most people opt for the traditional 30-year mortgage, which makes paying the monthly payments much easier. You can build equity much faster, however, by opting for a 15-year mortgage term instead.

6. Make improvements and upgrades to your home
Big renovations like a new kitchen or adding extra rooms or additional bathrooms will up the value of your home and build equity in it swiftly. Just be sure the improvements you make will be worth it once they’re complete.
