I don’t think we’re ever ready to say goodbye. It’s comforting knowing that she is no longer in pain and that there are so many family members and friends greeting her at the gates of heaven. My grandma was one hell of a matriarch. She taught us to be tough, determined and fully committed to everything we do. We will miss her more than she’ll ever know and are so blessed for each moment we had with her. Love you grandma!

Anna Ninette Atzenbeck, 86, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on May 21, 2026 in Wheat Ridge at Lutheran Medical Center.
Ninette is survived by her husband, James Joseph Atzenbeck, Arvada, Colorado; her children, Barbara Gertner, Jenise Clark (Russ), James Atzenbeck II (Kris), Timothy Atzenbeck (Holly), and Christine Atzenbeck (Jeff); her sister, Andrea Farmer (Bill); her grandchildren, Deanne Gertner, Megan Denham, Meredith Gertner, Joseph Atzenbeck, Danielle Balough, Nicholas Atzenbeck, Michaela Barela, Ian Atzenbeck, Alyssa Spears, Aaron Atzenbeck, Steffani Atzenbeck, Jordan Shaffer, and Sarah Wiest; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Muriel Moody and Joseph Kestel; sister, Sharon Minton; and grandson, Michael Atzenbeck.
Ninette was born in Denver, Colorado to Muriel and Joseph on February 14, 1940. She went to North High School and graduated in 1958. She went on to earn a hairdressing license and a certificate as a medical assistant. She worked at Children’s Hospital in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit for several years. She enjoyed reading crime and thriller novels, Mexican food, dancing, taking walks with her husband, attending weekly mass, soap operas, nail art, and supporting her family in their many personal and professional endeavors.
