Lately, I've noticed a disturbing trend among some online users, those so-called keyboard warriors. I stumbled upon a Reddit post about an investor who purchased a property, and invested time and resources into rehabbing it, only to encounter a disappointing outcome. They not only lost money, but their financial future is now at stake. But what troubled me even more, were the venomous and hateful comments left beneath that post. They were shockingly cruel, wishing all sorts of ill will upon this person who took a risk and attempted to improve a property.
This got me thinking. Why were these people so angry? Why did they harbor such animosity towards individuals who took a chance to make a positive impact? In the United States, where opportunity and prosperity are supposed to be accessible to all, it seems contradictory that people would condemn those who invest their time and energy into bettering their lives and the lives of others. Sure, investors aim for profit, but that's the nature of capitalism.
