Tim Haynes, Realtor

Tim Haynes, Realtor Real Estate I’ve been involved with houses one way or another throughout my career. So, I moved to Boston to get a Master’s Degree in Architecture.

Fresh out of business school, I went to Wall Street where I worked in the mortgage-financing bond market. After more than a decade in the home loan financial markets and many renovations of my own, I was ready for a new challenge. I have worked for some of the most prestigious architecture firms in Boston. When I was at CBT, I was a part of the team responsible for the new Ritz-Carlton (Millennium

Place) towers. Large-scale construction was interesting and I loved the high-end condo work but I really wanted to do houses. I left CBT to do houses with Duckham+McDougal, Catalano Architects and Meyer and Meyer. Combining my love of houses with my experience financing, designing, building and renovating them, I have had a real estate license for years and years. At first, I used my license to help friends and family buy and sell their homes, as well as flipping my own renovation projects. Early in 2009, I decided to work more actively in the profession and joined Keller-Williams to take advantage of their unparalleled training and support. Since March 2015, I have been working primarily in the real estate business while taking on the occasional design project for clients. I especially enjoy helping clients find architectural treasure homes, unique fixer-upper opportunities, diamonds in need of TLC, homes with expansion potential, period restoration projects and perfect new home sites.

There are a lot of good insights on the current real estate market in this article.

With inventory tight, home prices high and interest rates rising, many homeowners are giving up on the idea of trading up from the first home they bought.

I saw this article in the Times and wondered about the similarities and differences in Boston. I'm hearing some of these thoughts from customers. Many of my co-agents are reporting an easing up on the seller's market in certain segments. Things are still moving briskly but a little less demand is balancing the market. That creates opportunities for buyers and sellers.

Thanks to an uncertain real estate market, more people in New York’s suburbs are putting off buying a home and renting one instead.
