Hello Norwich Friends. Ive decided to sell 88-90 Main St. It is a great opportunity to own a piece of Norwich history. I originally purchased the building for my son and his wife. Planned a large apartment on 3rd floor, 2 apartments for lease on 2nd floor and his business in commercial first floor. Unfortunately they decided to stay in Honolulu where all lived for nearly 10 years...I guess some would say that's fortunate for them! I altered the plans and a local Architect Fred Merzak drew up plans for 4 1- bedroom apartments and a commercial 2,000 sq ft space on first floor. We completely demo'd the entire building, removed asbestos, disposed of about 6 30 yd dumpsters of trash, stripped old plumbing and fixtures that were unusable, reinforced ceilings and floors, replaced roofs on 1st and 2nd floors (these roofs extend in the back beyond 3rd floor roof), and enlarged and replaced decks on 2nd and 3rd floors. I had submitted a grant application to NCDC for up to $100k which was approved and was also approved for a $52k lead paint abatement program here in Norwich. Like a friend said to me...if I were 20 years younger, I would jump on this opportunity... that is where I stand right now...I've just lost the enthusiasm that was connected to doing this project for my family... and that's why I'm offering if for sale at the bargain office of $125k. I'm hoping for it to sell quickly to someone with vision. So, I'm a motivated seller and open to negotiating terms. I have invested over $150k in the building and all of it was necessary...so this us a bargain price. I hope to hear from anyone interested. I'm living in Norwich and have a flexible schedule.
