As another year comes to an end it makes us grateful to reflect on the lessons learned, opportunities given, successes and failures.

We have been blessed with great company on our journey for many years. This years no different, we would like to thank our team for always sticking with us. Day or night, weekday or weekend they always show up and accept a challenge. And to our valued clients, thank you for the opportunity to serve you in 2024!!

As we start another busy year, it’s important to look back at the milestones of 2024.

-2,787 acres of prescribed fire applied safely to the landscape.

-1,412 acres of prairie installation

-308 acres of Timberstand

-1,028 Native trees planted.

We also collected a fair amount of seed to diversify existing prairie around the area.

Sent up a little smoke today on a very diverse four year old pollinator planting. Be sure to take advantage of good burn days yet to come this fall.

Fall fires are a great tool to set back unwanted woody vegetation and open space on the ground for your forbs to flourish.

Sleep, Creep, Leap.

The normal sequence we expect when establishing a pollinator planting.

Over the last five years we have been implementing new techniques, new technologies and new ways of thinking when it comes to seed sourcing, seed handling and seed installation.

The picture below illustrates the results, this seed was sown on February 29th 2024.

Although we still stress to our clients the importance of patients when establishing native plants, we are proud of the results we have been experiencing in growing season one.

We are looking to add several full and part time field techs to our team!

Spent the day checking up on prairie installations.

Phenomenal year one growth of Rosinweed, nearly 3 feet tall and starting to flower.

Also checked on a recently discovered remnant prairie site that we burnt in late April. It is exploding with one of the largest remnant populations of Leadplant we have ever seen. In this particular area we counted over 20 remnant species.
