Find out more about our Property Manager, Christine Kennedy.

As we close out Women’s History Month, we turn our focus on Christine Kennedy. As property manager of The Ludlow, her dedication to tenants’ ever-evolving needs begins with her ever-evolving background.

She holds a Bachelor’s (B.S.), two Master’s (M.S.), and a soon-to-be third Master’s (M.S.) in real estate and finance. But after teaching for ten years prior, Christine had a change of heart.

“I found myself being drawn to real estate and, by word of mouth, was referred to The Ludlow,” she explained.

Early on, Christine crossed paths with Nancy Packes, a New York real estate visionary, which significantly impacted her.

“I watched Nancy conduct herself in our monthly meetings and admired the way she listened carefully to what each person was saying. Listening is a skill,” Christine said.

As the only high-rise residential building in the Lower East Side, The Ludlow continues to listen and expand. In 2017, they renovated all of their common areas, and in 2021, they are completing renovations on some of their apartments.

Today we join together as a community in marking the historic pain that racial inequality has caused in the past while also celebrating Juneteenth and the diversity of our country.

While reflecting on how we can achieve continuous self-development and lasting change, Edison Properties, as a family of businesses, is compelled to act. We’ve announced programs such as our Diversity and Inclusion Council, Supplier Diversity Management Program, internal mentorship, and external community volunteer initiatives. We’ve started conversations as a team, and while those are sometimes difficult, we must have these discussions in the workplace and within our community to create real and lasting change in the fight against racism. We stand with those who abhor injustice and who challenge biases.

Bias exists, but we can only move beyond the injustice that bias creates with increased awareness and commitment to change. Each of us can make a difference in our world.
