The Pinky Swear Foundation provides financial and emotional support to families battling childhood cancer, covering essential everyday expenses like housing, food, and transportation. Their core goal is to relieve financial distress so parents can focus entirely on being with their sick child. The foundation was inspired by a heartfelt promise in 2003 between 9-year-old Mitch Chepokas—who was battling bone cancer—and his father. After Mitch passed away, his family kept their pinky swear promise to continue helping kids with cancer.
One of the outreach opportunities The Pinky Swear Foundation provides to volunteers is to write cards that are sent with care packages sent to families battling a new diagnosis of cancer.
Today, Centennial residents showed their kindness by creating heartfelt cards to send to these families. We had lovely conversation and are happy to create smiles to families going through this hardship!
