Mortgage rates are down this week and we get to see some 5's again! WooHoo!

Overall it was a short trading week since Monday was a federal holiday and the bond markets were closed. Coming into Tuesday though it is not uncommon to see a lot more volatility simply because we had an extra day's worth of things to still react to. 😅

Luckily... or unluckily? Mortgage rates improved due to fears of a debt ceiling showdown in DC and a weak economic data report.

There is no way to sugar coat it... mortgage rates celebrate bad news by coming down. So consider that the silver lining to any concerns over a future recession. 🙃

This is going to be a great weekend to get out shopping for a new home! Get in the market NOW before the other potential buyers realize the rates can be bought down in to the 5's again!

Big Time! The number of pending sales over the last seven days greatly outpaced the number of new listings. The strong demand for homes in this market is making it more and more difficult for entry level home buyers to find their first home. Last week real estate brokers in Island County turned in 61 pending sales, posted only 34 new listings and completed 15 price reductions. Great week for home sellers .
