Barry’s play is a delightful, funny, moving glimpse of the sort of lives we are all familiar with, our own”
Don’t miss out on your chance to be apart of strong female lead show. Auditions will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, 1:00-4:00 PM, and Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, 1:00-4:00 PM.
The Octette Bridge Club is a play by P.J. Berry. It concerns eight Irish-American and very Roman Catholic sisters in Providence, Rhode Island, who meet every other Friday evening for home baked pie, titillating gossip, banter and bridge. The real comedy and drama begin, however, when they put down the cards and you are captivated by the deja vu of conversations we, as children heard, from the backseats of cars, around the dining table we were playing under in the kitchen where our mothers and aunts cleaned up after Thanksgiving dinner. Act I takes place in Oct, 1934 and Act II takes place 10 years later, the Fri before Halloween, 1944
Auditions will take place at the Whidbey Playhouse Star Studio, 730 S.E. Midway Blvd in Oak Harbor.
The cast for The Octette Bridge Club, includes a total of 8 women and 1 man. Readings will be from the script. No appointment is necessary, and all roles are available. Scripts are available at the Playhouse for previewing. The production will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, with three matinees, Oct. 26-Nov. 11, 2018.
