Isle of Dogs is so much more than a vacation rental that allows dogs.
Yes, we created a place designed around people traveling with their dogs, with no breed or size discrimination. But from the beginning, we also wanted this home to help dogs who desperately needed a chance.
If you follow us, you already know Safari. If you do not, here is the very short version.
During the January snowstorm, we believed Safari, his mom and his dad could freeze to death on the chains where they had spent their lives. We came here and begged for help, and so many of you stepped up.
You helped us raise the money to keep them in boarding for months because I refused to send them back to those chains. You helped get them vetted. GCSPCA helped. Natural Breed Kennels helped. The Perfect Pup helped. So many people contributed in so many different ways including the many peoiple that help behind the scenes.
There were also people who failed Safari throughout this journey, but thankfully, even more people fought for him.
Safari recently completed six weeks of board and train with The Perfect Pup. Watching him overcome years of neglect has been incredible. The transformation in him is hard to put into words.
We begged and begged for the right foster, but nobody stepped forward who could provide what Safari needed. So, once again, we stepped up.
Safari is now staying with us until we find him an amazing foster or, even better, the committed forever home he deserves.
This is why Isle of Dogs has never been just another vacation rental that allows dogs. It is a place created for dogs, inspired by dogs and used to give dogs like Safari the opportunity to experience safety, comfort and love, perhaps for the very first time, BUT WE CAN ONLY DO THAT WITH YOUR HELP! YOU, help us with the funds, with sharing, with transporting, with buying items in need, with supporting me behind the scenes and so much more!
