Yes, we have alligators in Southport. Friendly reminder to stay alert, keep a safe distance, and NEVER feed or approach alligators, which are most active at dawn and dusk. Keep pets on leashes away from water edges, supervise children, and report to 9-1-1 any concerns or nuisance gators.

•• Key Alligator Safety Tips: •• 🐊

🛑Keep Distance: Maintain a safe distance (at least 60 feet) if you see an alligator, as they are fast on land.

🛑Never Feed: Feeding alligators is illegal, dangerous, and causes them to lose their fear of humans.

🛑Pet Safety: Keep pets on a leash and away from the water's edge, as they can resemble natural prey.

🛑Swim Safely: Only swim during daylight hours and in designated areas.

Nuisance Alligators: If an alligator is in a threatening position, or in an unusual spot, call the 9-1-1, or our APS Office, (910) 477-1486.

Last day of the season. Hard to believe we’re already here.
We open at 12 today, and the Southport Winterfest Flotilla kicks off at 6pm. It’s one of our favorite nights of the year, and we’re grateful to spend it with you.
