🍂 to a few weeks ago, back East, where autumn truly knows how to put on a show. There’s something almost magical in the way the trees surrender their green, ablaze in hues of amber, crimson, and gold. It’s a rhythm, a reminder of change, deeply woven into the place where seasons are as real as they are fleeting—a world away from the subtle shifts we see in the Bay.

Nothing quite like it. 🍁

🏰 The Turrets of Crocker Highlands • Originally, turrets were small towers that projected from the walls of castles and fortresses, serving both defensive and observational purposes.💂They allowed guards to see and defend against approaching enemies from a high vantage point, often providing space for archers or lookouts.

🏡 As architectural styles evolved, turrets transitioned from purely functional features to decorative elements, particularly in residential design. In the 19th century, during the Victorian era, turrets became popular in residential architecture, especially in the Queen Anne style. These turrets added a sense of grandeur and whimsical 💫 charm to homes, reflecting the era’s fascination with ornate and eclectic design.

I've been lucky enough to have had several listings with turrets right here in Crocker Highlands.

PENDING! This room was what sold my clients on this Berkeley Hills home! A soaring barrel ceiling with dark wood beams, built in book shelves and a gorgeous fireplace - it’s all about the architectural details that can make a home stand out. This home was worth giving it their all. With tough competition, we landed the deal!
BUYER TIP: Submit your best and final offer because you most likely won’t get a second chance or a counter offer.

Being a buyer is tough right now. Be patient, be determined and dream of when you’ll be in your new home. Work with a Realtor. Who you work with is important. Stay focused. It’ll be worth it.

In many ways, homes define our neighborhoods. We live where we feel comfortable, settled, at home. My home is Oakland. People are surprised that homes like this one that I sold a few years back even exist in this urban town. “Oak town.” Homes here in my neighborhood were built by some of the most renown architects like Julia Morgan who designed Hearst Castle at San Simeon. As a Realtor, I’m so lucky to be able to sell these jewels, to share their architectural details and to tell about our communities. The next time you talk a walk in your neighborhood, notice the homes!

Most buyers search for a house that ticks all the boxes.

✨Pro-tip: ✨find a house that needs work but has good bones and build the rooms of your dreams. This way, you get a great deal, exactly the design you want, and the satisfaction of a DIY!
I helped my client remodel this 1920’s kitchen after she moved in. A month later, she is loving her new home!
