It is that time of the year already! With Daylight Savings behind us, the weather is getting chilly!

We would like to remind you that you should turn on your heater to make sure it is working. This time of the year, we get inundated with service calls and we are trying to be proactive so as to prevent delay.

If your pilot is not lit, PG&E will do this, at no cost. PG&E can be reached at 800-743-5000. We suggest you do this ASAP as they are starting to get backlogged with calls. If we have to light it for you, we will have to charge a service call fee to you.

If PG&E is unable to start the heater, please contact the office and we will schedule a service repair call.

As a reminder to everyone, EBMUD has declared a Stage 4 critical drought for California & has adopted new water use rules that affect all customers. These restrictions apply to everyone—individuals, businesses, homeowner associations, schools & other public entities.

• Strict limits on frequency: water no more than 2 non-consecutive days per week with no runoff.
• Strict limits on times: water only before 9am and after 6pm
• No watering allowed within 48 hours of measurable rainfall.
• No watering of ornamental turf on public street medians allowed.
• No washing of driveways and sidewalks; except as needed for health and safety.
• Use only hoses with shutoff nozzles to wash vehicles.
• Turn off fountains or decorative water features unless the water is recirculated.
• Use of hydrant water outside the EBMUD service area is prohibited.

The excessive water use ordinance will penalize households who use 1,000 gallons per day, which is four times the amount of water used by the average residential customer.
