Traffic Notice - Downtown Waterville

Please be advised that Main Street and Common Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the Nightmare on Main Street event.

This closure is to ensure a safe and fun environment for all attendees enjoying the festivities, including Trunk or Treat, live performances, film screenings, and more.

🌳 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS! 🌳

A huge thank-you to the Kennebec-Messalonskee Trails community members who spent several hours this past weekend working alongside FirstPark Executive Director Kristine Logan and KRDA Board member, Tom Munson, to remove invasive bittersweet from our beautiful business park!

Invasive bittersweet can strangle trees, damage their trunks and branches, and eventually threaten their health. Removing it is an important step in protecting FirstPark’s lovely trees and preserving the natural beauty of our park for years to come.

We appreciate the time, hard work and community spirit these volunteers brought to the effort! The Kennebec-Messalonskee Trails organization works to promote and maintain trails and build a more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly community throughout the greater Waterville area. We’re grateful to work alongside people who care about the future of our region.

But there is still so much more to do! 🌿

Would you be willing to volunteer if we organized another community workday at FirstPark? We’d love to bring more people together to tackle the bittersweet and help protect our healthy trees.

The Norridgewock Fire Department's new Rescue 24 has officially gone into service!

This new apparatus replaces the Department's 2000 Dodge rescue truck, which recently earned the distinction of Best Original Antique at the Maine State Firefighters Convention. Not a bad way to wrap up its years of service!

The Department is grateful for the community's continued strong support of our emergency services and first responders. Investments like these help ensure that our firefighters have the equipment and resources necessary to serve and protect Norridgewock and Mercer for years to come.
