Most people don’t realize this about me, but yoga is a big part of how I stay grounded.

Real estate can be a lot. Constant movement, constant decisions, constant noise. Yoga is where I go to quiet that down and reset. It's something that I integrated into my life over 25 years ago, and still going strong.

What I didn’t expect when I first started was the people.

Some of the best friendships I’ve made didn’t come from networking events or work. They came from a yoga studio.

Elsa is one of those people. I jokingly call her my “Yoga Wife” (aka Yife), but there’s truth behind it. We met when she was teaching Heated Power Flow at CorePower Yoga, and I’d go out of my way to catch her classes. There was just something about the way she led the room. It pushed me, kept me present, and honestly made me enjoy showing up.

Over time, that turned into a real friendship outside the studio. The kind that has nothing to do with work, and everything to do with just being around good people.

That’s what yoga has given me. Not just balance, but community.

If you’ve been thinking about trying it, or getting back into it, do it. You might be surprised what you find. Feel free to message me about it or my journey.

I’ve known my client and friend Karina for a while now which made this one so fun! We even had a good time at closing and the pups enjoyed some play time with one another and greeting all the neighbor dogs as they walked by.

Karina and I originally worked together a few companies ago, in the medical field. I hired her to work as a prosthetist for a new Orthotics and Prosthetics facility I was tasked with opening. Many chapters later, I helped her dad buy a home in Santa Cruz, and last year helped her make a move into a rental condo here in Oakland.

But this story is about more recent events. She was ready to find a forever home in Oakland.

She grew up in Oakland, spent time in Santa Cruz, and now with a promotion and her mom just a couple neighborhoods over, it made sense to plant roots here for good.

The house itself had character… it’s over 110 years old. With that comes decisions, some challenging, some easy. Not everything needs to be updated right away, but some things do. Part of my role is helping sort through that and to figure out what can wait, what adds value later, and what needs to be handled before day one.

In this case, the biggest item was the k**b and tube electrical. It’s not the most exciting thing to deal with, but it’s one of those upgrades that matters for safety. We worked through getting it removed and replaced with modern wiring BEFORE she moved in!

Once that was taken care of, everything else felt a lot more manageable.

That’s a big part of the process — helping clients not just find the right home, but walk into it knowing the important things are already handled.

Yes, this is an ad. I won't try to disguise it. As a real estate agent here in Oakland, I spend my own money every month to advertise because I believe a real estate agent shouldn't just be a salesperson. They should also be a MARKETER.

So, you'll probably see more ads from me....I hope it helps you remember me.

I guess you could say I believe in the power of marketing. 🎯

If you're still reading this, I suppose it's working.

The bottom line is that I invest more money into marketing than most real estate agents do....so I can create results that most agents don't.

So, if you're thinking of selling your home, give me a call or shoot me a text.

Let's talk.

We end up at the Montclair Farmers Market about once a month, usually without much of a plan.

It’s an easy Sunday stop. Walk through, grab a few things, see what looks good that day. There’s always fresh drinks, produce, and local favorites set up with food, plus there’s always live-music going in the background.

We pretty much always stop at Starter Bakery. Their breakfast pastries are to die for! And the citrus vendor is another favorite. Everything is organic, not treated to look perfect, and the flavor actually tastes like it should. They also have varieties you don’t see in most stores.

And for anyone wondering why Mushu isn’t in the photos… It's not dog friendly since it’s a food environment, so sadly he stays home on these trips.

If you haven’t been, it runs every Sunday from 9am - 1pm, rain or shine.
