I have been in DC this week with the Iowa Farm Bureau AG Leaders group, my group met with Grassley, Ernst, and Feenstra(staff). While others in our group met with Nunn, Meeks and Hinson. They are fighting for farmers, it’s not the perfect farm bill but it’s moving forward!

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨

The Senate Agriculture Committee has advanced the 2026 Farm Bill, moving the legislation one step closer to consideration by the full Senate.

The finale votes came in 12-11, along party lines. There are no amendments and no changes.

The current Farm Bill extension is set to expire September 30, adding pressure to complete the process.

The next major step is consideration by the full Senate.

Louisiana will soon see a phosphate fertilizer plant coming just outside of New Orleans. It is the first one in the U.S. in over four decades and will take two years to build.

Louisiana will also soon see an ammonium plant.

CF Industries is working on Project Blue Point and it will host the largest ammonium plant in the world. The nearly $4 billion dollar venture will be in Modeste, Louisiana. CF is joined in this by Japan's JERA Co. and Mitsui & Co.

The construction process is underway and the production target date is in 2029.
