Attention - Warrning - Buyers and Sellers Beware
Buying or selling a home is, for many people, one of the biggest financial commitments of their lifetime. Choose wisely.
Something very strange is happening in the real estate world.
Buying a small item online from places like Amazon is one thing. Buying or selling a home is something entirely different. Never allow yourself to be misled by people who use "AI" and social media to create a false impression of experience, credibility, or connections.
Having been a real estate broker for many years, I have never experienced receiving five or six calls a day from people on the East Coast and West Coast claiming they have buyers or sellers in Contra Costa County and are looking for a local agent to handle the transaction. In many cases, a home purchase is a lifetime investment.
Common sense tells us that someone thousands of miles away is unlikely to have the local knowledge and personal relationships they claim. Since AI has become widely available, many dishonest individuals have begun using these tools to make easy money by misleading buyers and sellers.
My professional advice is simple: Buyers and sellers should meet with the real estate agent or broker in person before making any decisions. Don't rely solely on social media, online advertising, or polished AI-generated marketing.
The traditional approach still works best. Meet face-to-face. Ask about their credentials, experience, local market knowledge, reputation, track record, and production history. A personal interview will tell you far more than an online profile ever can.
The good old-fashioned way of doing business—built on trust, honesty, and personal relationships—has stood the test of time.
