With the eminent hurricane approaching FL it is a good reminder that back-feeding your generator is dangerous. If you must backfeed your home, make sure the main breaker is turned OFF for two reasons, if it is not turned off it could kill a lineman working on the power and if the power came back on it would blow the generator up. Also make sure your generator is far enough from your home and vegetation so it will not cause a fire or introduce carbon monoxide into the home. Everyone in the storms path please stay safe.
