I spent the weekend back at Auburn, and I kept seeing buttons that said, “I want to go back to college.” After this trip, I understand why. 🧡💙
I hadn’t been back in about 10 years. So much has changed since I was a student—the town has grown, the campus feels different, and some of my old landmarks took a minute to find. But being there still felt like Auburn.
When the rain sent us inside the student center, I watched a screen sharing all the ways students can find their people and get support: hundreds of organizations, cultural programs, stress management resources, counseling, and even therapy dogs. It made me happy to see how much thought goes into helping students feel connected.
I found myself thinking about the communities I work in back home. A place becomes special through the people who welcome you, the activities that bring you together, and the support that helps you feel you belong. That’s something I loved about Auburn as a student, and it’s something I appreciate about life at On Top of the World today.
They say you can go home, but you can’t go back. Auburn has grown since I was here. So have I. Getting to experience it again this weekend was pretty wonderful.
