Beautiful Coco by the sea. Coco is the oldest horse in the Maryland herd and it is always special to see her.

Some days just feel written in the stars ✨
The warm weather recently has brought out quite a few of the more reclusive horses. We no longer hike once tick season is in swing so it was an epic day to find so many of our horses enjoying the shoreline. Seeing the state line band was a highlight for sure as they likely have 2 of the island’s elders.

Check out the new the litter station tools!

If you see trash on our beaches, try out the tools at our new litter station to help keep our island clean.

Assateague Island National Seashore is excited to unveil our new litter station installed in the North Beach parking lot.

Dylan Maine, of the Boy Scout Salisbury Troup 817, proposed, designed and installed this station. In completing this volunteer service project, Dylan has fulfilled the requirements of the NPS Scout Ranger Program. Please join us in celebrating Dylan’s hard work and take the litter station tools out for a spin on your next visit!
