First things first — Trask Family Farm Pumpkin Patch is open Wednesday through Sunday now through November 1st, and with pick-your-own pumpkins actually grown on the farm, Wilmington's largest corn maze spanning over four miles and three difficulty levels, pick-your-own fresh flowers, hayrides, live music every weekend, homemade ice cream, and a petting zoo — this is the fall destination you need on your calendar ASAP!

September 25th–27th, history lovers absolutely cannot miss the Warbirds History Restored Tour at Wilmington International Airport (ramp and cockpit tours Sat/Sun 12–4:30pm) featuring DOC, one of only two airworthy B-29 bombers left in the world, and the P-51 Gunfighter Mustang — ramp and cockpit tours are just $10 per person or $20 per family with ride flights also available!

Saturday, September 26th, head to the Fort Johnston Garrison Lawn in Southport for Carolina Blues: Indigo on the Cape Fear (11am–3pm), a free and genuinely fascinating program exploring the history of indigo cultivation in the Lower Cape Fear, complete with live dyeing demonstrations and the chance to dye your own handkerchief with real indigo to take home!

Then Sunday, September 27th, Carolina Beach Pier brings the party with Oktoberfest on the Beach (12–5pm) — an oompah band, stein holding contest, seaside pumpkin patch, German-inspired food and drinks, and all the beachside fall fun you could ever want!

Starting Friday, September 18th, Johnnie Mercer's Fishing Pier is hosting the King Mackerel Invitational as part of Mackerel Mania — running through Sunday the 20th, this tournament is the kind of exciting, fast-paced fishing action that draws serious anglers and enthusiastic spectators alike, so come fish or just soak up the energy from that incredible 1,200 foot pier with some amazing views and a stop at the tackle shop and snack bar while you're at it!

Also kicking off Friday at Azalea Station in the Cargo District, the Fifth Annual Latte Art Throwdown is your chance to watch Wilmington's most talented coffee gurus go head to head for the title of Best Latte Art — and then Saturday the main Wilmington Coffee Fest Street Fair takes over with coffee roasters, shops, tea suppliers, food trucks, bakeries, and artisan vendors all day long, plus your chance to vote for the best hot and cold coffee beverage!

We’re seeing the shift into the fall market, with activity down across the board this week in both Brunswick and New Hanover counties.

In Brunswick County, we had 166 new listings, 99 closings, and 91 homes pending with showings. In New Hanover County, there were 100 new listings, 52 closings, and 52 homes pending with showings.

A seasonal slowdown isn’t unusual as we head into fall, but the market is still moving. If you’re thinking about buying or selling along the NC coast, knowing what’s happening locally can help you make your next move with confidence.

Registration kicks off Friday, September 11th at Inlet Watch Marina for the Carolina Beach Inshore Challenge, with tournament fishing taking place Saturday the 12th against the iconic backdrop of Carolina Beach Inlet — whether you're a seasoned tournament angler or a first-timer ready to chase some heavy red drum, this is the premier inshore fishing event in North Carolina red drum territory and the awards party and ceremony at 4pm Saturday makes for the perfect finish to a day on the water!

Also on Saturday, Front Street in Downtown Wilmington transforms into one of the most spectacular outdoor art shows of the year for the American Craft Walk (10am–5pm), where over 120 talented artists line the streets with one-of-a-kind handcrafted works perfect for yourself or someone you love — a true celebration of artistry and community in one of the most beautiful settings around!

That Saturday evening, head to The Grape & Ale for Next Stop Comedy (7pm), where a brand new lineup of comedians seen on TV and heard on your favorite podcasts are ready to make you laugh harder than you have all week!
