Brunswick County real estate sales increase 86% in July compared to 2019, highest single-month sales total on record

Brunswick County’s residential real estate market saw an 86% increase in sales volume last month compared to July 2019. The July 2020 total was the highest single-month sales volume on record, according to the Brunswick County Association of REALTORS®.

“Last month I had to do a double-take to make sure I was reading the numbers correctly,” said BCAR CEO Cynthia Walsh. “This month I had to do a triple-take. While we can expect to see some impact from Hurricane Isaias in next month’s numbers, overall our market continues to be on fire.”

Brunswick County saw $243,350,000 in total home sales in July 2020, an 86% spike over last July’s $130,800,000. The number of units sold jumped 57.5%, from 457 to 720. Home sales were spread throughout Brunswick County, with 174 sales in the Leland market and 206 on barrier islands. The average sale price increased 18.1%, from $286,204 to $337,993. Fifteen homes sold for more than $1,000,000 and 93 sales were between $500,000 and $999,999.
