📣 Chicago just launched a program that could give you up to $70,000 toward buying a home — and most people scrolling right now have never heard of it.
It's called the Chicago HomeGrown Purchase Assistance Program, and it launched in June 2026 through the City of Chicago Department of Housing.
Here's what it covers:

✅ Closing costs
✅ The grant is 100% forgiven after 5 years if you stay in the home
Who qualifies?
🏠 Buying a primary residence in Chicago
💰 Income within the program's AMI limits — varies by household size
📋 Not a current homeowner at closing
📅 Planning to stay at least 5 years
Eligible properties: single-family homes, condos, townhomes, and 2-flats. New ground-up construction does not qualify.
