California home-repair costs jump 67% !! It is much much cheaper in CALIFORNIA TO RENT a home that BUY in all locations. Rents will keep going up because of all these added expenses to the homeowner. Example - the cheapest locations of California to buy a home with a 500k mortgage = TOTAL monthly payment including taxes/insurance = $3681.40 at the current interest rate of around 7%. -
Rent for that same house would be only $2500/month. Renters are saving $1181/ month compared to if they bought.

REPAIR COSTS , INSURANCE, MAINTAINANCE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE $3681/MONTH PAYMENT. So it is a total bargain to rent now. Unless we have a crash in the real estate prices and interest rates lower Rent prices are almost guaranteed to increase much more moving forward.
