Even if no major defects are found during the inspection, it is never a waste of money. An inspection is also a great opportunity to learn about the home you are buying and establish a baseline for the condition and age of its major systems.
For example, knowing the furnace is working properly but is 20 years old gives you valuable information about what expenses you may need to plan and budget for in the coming years. The more you know about the home from the beginning, the better prepared you’ll be as a homeowner.
