If you own your home, you might qualify for a Homestead Exemption… and yes, it can lower your property taxes 👀

Here’s a quick breakdown 👇🏽

✅ What is it?
A tax break on your primary residence that can reduce how much you pay in property taxes.

✅ Who qualifies?
• You own the home
• It’s your primary residence
• You lived there as of January 1st

✅ How to apply (SUPER simple):
1. Go to the Ector County Appraisal District website
👉 https://www.ectorcad.org
2. Click on “Homestead Exemption”
3. Fill out the application
4. Submit online (or in person)

📅 Deadline: April 30th!

💡 Pros:
✔️ Lower property taxes
✔️ Saves you money every year
✔️ Protection from large tax increases

⚠️ Cons:
• Must be your primary home
• You can’t have it on multiple properties
