We’re getting VERY close!

After months of planning, construction, and bringing our vision to life, Professionals On Main is officially nearing the finish line and ready to showcase Stay Oelwein. We fully anticipate being ready to begin hosting guests by mid-July!

We decided to go ahead and make our listings live early so travelers, families, wedding guests, and professionals visiting Oelwein can begin viewing availability and planning ahead for summer stays.

You’ll notice there are currently limited photos posted; that’s intentional. We wanted to test interest and begin opening dates before revealing the finished spaces in full. The final touches are happening now, and we can’t wait to share the completed look very soon.

These downtown loft-style stays are located right in the heart of Main Street Oelwein and are being designed to feel modern, comfortable, and truly welcoming.

The front exterior at Professionals On Main is officially finished. We just have a little final cleaning on the doors and windows, but otherwise the outside is complete and we're thrilled with how it turned out.

Upstairs construction is on track to be completed by mid-June, and we're targeting a July 1 launch for our Airbnb rentals. Our website, stayoelwein.com, is coming along nicely and is expected to go live around the same time.

It's been exciting to watch this historic downtown space come back to life, and we can't wait to welcome guests from near and far to Oelwein.

We’re getting close.

StayOelwein is officially in the final stages of construction, and it’s one of those phases where every time we walk through, something new is finished and the whole space feels more real.

If everything continues on track, we’re planning to begin taking bookings via Airbnb as early as July. We’ll keep you posted as we lock in dates.

One last peek with a photo update until we have professional photos ready to properly showcase the finished space.

We’re excited to share a progress update on the upper level renovation at Professionals on Main!

Construction is moving along and we’re getting close to the fun part. Electrical and HVAC rough-ins are now complete thanks to the team at Northeast Iowa Mechanical, plumbing rough-ins are finished thanks to Irvine Water Conditioning and Plumbing, and drywall begins next week. Once that goes up, things tend to move pretty quickly.

A big thank you to AR General Construction, LLC for all of the carpentry work so far—and for the finish work that’s coming soon as this space really starts to come together.

In just a couple months, we expect to bring Oelwein’s first downtown short/mid-term rental units to market. These spaces are being designed to give visitors a comfortable place to stay right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of local businesses, events, and everything Main Street has to offer.

We’re excited about what this means for our community and hope you’ll help us spread the word as we get closer to opening!

Meet Tristan — aka Red Hot Lover

If you’ve walked by Professionals on Main and spotted a sleek Whippet soaking up the sunshine in the front window, that’s Tristan doing what he does best. He’s an accomplished show dog with a big personality, a love for calm energy, and a knack for turning heads from his favorite chair.

Tristan keeps the office lively, and is always happy to greet visitors who appreciate good vibes and a friendly face. He’s become a bit of a front-window regular and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m reaching out from Midwest Counseling Associates, where we’re currently looking to add Mental Health Therapists to our private practice team.
We provide a supportive, client-focused environment and are seeking licensed therapists who value collaboration, professional growth, and evidence-based practice.
If you know of any clinicians who may be a good fit, or if you could share our opening within your network, we’d greatly appreciate it. Additionally, we are expanding to the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and have recently opened an office in Oelwein Iowa. We are also looking to grow in other areas of Eastern Iowa so feel free to reach out if you have questions regarding a particular location. I encourage fully and provisionally licensed clinicians to apply in the Dubuque and surrounding areas as there will be potential opportunities not only in Dubuque but also our other offices and/ new cities/towns.
Lastly, I encourage students in the Master's level programs to apply for an intern position. We are accepting 1 intern in our Dubuque office and another one to split between our Oelwein and Cedar Falls location beginning this fall.

Framing by AR General Construction, LLC is almost complete at 24 South Frederick.

What once served as offices and even cooking show production space for Aliant Energy / Interstate Power Company back in the 1940s is now being renewed and taking shape once again.

Walls are up, rooms are defined, and the vision has moved from plans on paper to something you can walk through and feel. This upper level is being transformed into a luxury industrial-style short- to mid-term rental, built for Transco Events on Frederick guests and anyone visiting Oelwein who wants a stay that’s anything but ordinary.

Picture this: Oelwein Olde Tyme Christmas, snow in the air, sitting by the window overlooking Main Street as the Christmas Parade rolls through downtown. That moment is going to be pure magic, and this space is being created for exactly those experiences.

There’s still work ahead, but this milestone feels big. Excited to keep bringing something special to downtown Oelwein.
