These were the fastest growing cities in Utah in 2025. You'll note that although Salt Lake City was "big" in the number of households, it wasn't in regard to percentage. Although why the increased growth in these outlying communities is purely speculation by researchers, as a real estate professional I'm seeing many people opting to live outside Salt Lake County and commute a little further to work in order to have the home they want at a payment they can afford. For example, we moved to Ogden in 2024 as we needed a bigger home and the price per square foot in Weber County was better than Salt Lake County. It took 45 minutes to drive to his office in Murray, but it also took his coworker who lives in Herriman the same amount of time due to inner city traffic.
Utah's capital city remains the state's most populous city by a wide margin, but a new report finds that a pair of cities across northern Utah County are once again at the top in growth.
