Yesssssss!!!!! I have been patiently waiting for this to happen since the Covid housing craze!

I’m a firm believer that the covid market was driven up in a big part, due to investment firms buying homes like crazy with cash. Watching local families continually lose out on their offers that were over asking price broke my heart.

There was no way I was believing “these are all cash buyers from California”. I decided to do a little research and personally kept track of the addresses that my clients offers got rejected on and other cash sales. I saw the same LLC out of AZ over and over again buying them up. They would then sit vacant for close to a year and then the single family homes would be listed for rent with Progress Residential. Who would list them higher than the average rental rate, so also driving up the rental prices.

Progress Residential is owned by the investment firm Pretium Partners which owns 97,000 homes, 65,000 of them being single family. They are the leading institutional landlord in the US.

You want to know why your children aren’t able to afford homes. This is a prime example and needs to STOP!!!! My little research is just the tip of the iceberg I’m sure.

Wall Street investors have bought thousands of homes to rent out, a practice that has sparked concerns about affordability.
